Lovely Memories
In my previous post I was thinking the heat couldn't get worse. I was WRONG! The next few days will remain in the high 90s.
We haven't planted our balcony flower boxes yet because of the excessive heat. We miss them. The sparrows that used to eat our petunia blossoms also miss them.

You're right! We're getting a break until the weekend, so maybe I can get out there and do some plantin'!
Yeah, I've been spoiled for years being able to avoid the crowds down on the Mall and the horrific traffic afterwards. However, I used to go down religiously.
The last time I went with family members from Chicago, we all came back covered in soot carried down on us my a gentle rain. It was quite a sight! All of us with soot smeared faces and clothes. . .
